This mock comes to us from contributor Jason Babler.

Round 1

St. Louis - Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska 6-4 302
Assuming they get Michael Vick or someone else in FA/via trade to play QB. Otherwise I think they take Bradford.

Detroit
- Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma 6-4 298
Fortunes are turning around for this moribund franchise. Zero turnover in the coaching staff, a great draft last year, getting what many consider the best player in the draft = hitch up the bandwagon!

Tampa Bay
- Eric Berry FS Tennessee 5-11 203
Worst case scenario for the Bucs when the two top DTs go off the board. I think there’s some credence to the talk of them trading up.

Washington - Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma 6-4 223
Shanahan won’t be able to resist. He took Cutler when he had Plummer and he could take a QB even if he kind of likes Campbell.

Kansas City - Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State 6-5 302
Lots of ways they can go with this pick, but with Albert disappointing this should upgrade the entire offensive unit a bit.

Seattle - Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa 6-6 312
Who knows what Carroll’s offense will look like, but one thing’s for sure, their starting left tackle’s not on the roster right now.

Cleveland - Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State 6-2 220
I know that Holmgren doesn’t like to take WRs early, but that’s only when he has at least one on the roster.

Oakland - Anthony Davis OT Rutgers 6-6 325
Far too sensible to happen. Or is it? Sounds like Davis is at least soliciting opinions. And an up and down player is just what the Raiders need.

Buffalo - Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame 6-2 223
I know Clausen isn’t universally loved. But I saw a player that showed nearly constant improvement year after year and reminds me of Phillip Rivers in attitude - which to me is a good thing.

Jacksonville - Derrick Morgan DE Georgia Tech 6-4 272
The drafting of Harvey and Groves has thus far been an unexpected (to me) failure. Playing in the AFC South, they’ve got to get some sort of pass rush and Morgan is possibly the most complete DE in the draft.

Ryan Succop from South Carolina.  A kicker it is!

Thanks for reading, thanks for caring about the draft, and thanks for sticking with us through this epic weekend!  We’ll have analysis of the draft coming out this week so don’t forget about us!

211. St Louis - Chris Ogbonnaya, Texas - He’s not blessed with great vision, but Ogbonnaya is a high character player, he’s an excellent receiver and blocker, and he’s strong and big enough to get the tough yards. Plus Steven Jackson hasn’t been the picture of health lately.

212. Kansas City - Javarris Williams, Tennessee State - He’s compact and he has a good initial burst, but lacks long speed and quickness - a poorer man’s version of Gartrell Johnson. Does the lack of a high RB pick mean KC is keeping Larry Johnson - even so, Williams could get opportunity in the future if he hangs around.

240. Arizona - LaRod Stephens-Howling, Pitt - Stephens-Howling is a little bowling ball with speed and terrific moves. Before Shady McCoy showed up, Stephens-Howling was Pitt’s leading rusher.

250. Jacksonville -  Rashad Jennings, Liberty - Physically, he was one of the top 10 RBs in the draft, easy. None of know why he dropped, there’s no character or medical stuff that we know of. He’ll pass Chauncey Washington and be poised to get a lot of work if MJD gets dinged.

It’s not too early!  I don’t care what you say.  The 2010 draft is hours less than a year away, and we need to start thinking about who to watch on Saturdays.

If you want to know some names that aren’t necessarily high on everyone’s lists yet but might make a climb during their finals seasons, keep readin’.

QB Tony Pike, Cincinnati

He was playing hurt last year but still tallied 18 TDs against only 7 INTs.  His best 2 games were against South Florida and Pitt, the two toughest teams on his schedule. Pike’s one tall QB at 6’6”, and we wouldn’t be shocked to see him vault into the 1st day next year.

RB LeGarrette Blount, Oregon

He’s a bit tall for a RB but stacked at 238 pounds.  This former JUCO stud was suspended indefinitely from the Ducks in February, but we think he’ll be back with the team and might be the 2nd-most feared runner in the state behind OSU’s Jacquizz Rodgers.

DT Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska

Not really a well-kept secret in the draft community, but also not really a player many football fans have had the chance to focus on with Nebraska’s slide into mediocrity.  He’s already a beast at 6’4” 305, and he could maybe add a few more pounds.  His 5.5 sacks last year from the interior came despite the offense focusing on stopping him, and he’s already blocked kicks against Baylor and A&M the last 2 years.  Possible top 10 guy.

Because we expected AQ Shipley to go a few rounds earlier, and he’s got starting potential beyond just having a cool name.

This Penn State lineman has a real fire in his belly, but he doesn’t just maul guys in the trenches, he can get out on the move as a pulling blocker.  He dominated James Laurinatis in their matchup—Bloom said they “were chest to chest so many times they could’ve gotten married during the game.”  He’s short-armed and barrel-chested, and those arms probably cost him some draft position, but he might be the best C on the Steelers roster once they move on from Hartwig after a year or two.

Somewhere, the Iowa fan who posted this is shedding a tear over Mitch King’s inexplicable fall to the end (or out) of the draft.

Could be a starter, could fall back on bad habits.  But he’s a complete RB talent:

Rashad Jennings, the stud small-school back who looked rocked out at the Senior Bowl?

And how about LB Zack Follett from Cal? We had him as a possible top 60 player as a hustling LB.

Jeremiah Johnson was a speedy pass-catching back from Oregon who would be an excellent change of pace RB.

Ricky Jean-Francois was termed “better than Glenn Dorsey” at one point during his LSU career.  Still out there.

When Sorgi comes in at the end of seasons or games they’ve wrapped up, the Colts offense looks waaay feeble.  But Curtis Painter really impressed us at the Texas Vs the Nation game, and remember, he was a borderline 1st rounder going into this year.

Mike Wallace might be the new Nate Washington (and possibly better) for the Steelers. If Sweed remains inconsistent (and as a Longhorn grad I’m betting he will), it might not take more than half a season for Wallace to pass him.  Here, he lights up the screen with his smile at the Senior Bowl as he talks to us about his double moves and what he’s already learned from pro coaches:

Chung has a lot to say at the Senior Bowl about how hard he hits, when he forces fumbles, and why he loves the game.  Almost hate to say it, but he’s a perfect Pat:
